This Thursday, June 4, a serious accident was reported between two TransMilenio dual buses, exactly at the San Bernardo station, in Bogotá. According to official information, there is vehicular congestion while all corresponding work is carried out.

Details of the TransMilenio accident in Bogotá

Around 7:26 AM this Thursday, the first report was released, stating that the San Bernardo station, on the Carrera Décima trunk line, temporarily suspended its services.
TransMilenio buses are moving to the mixed lane and performing counterflow to reduce congestion,” they specified in their communication channels.
The public service company indicated that “information will be shared through the official channels of the respective entities.”
For now, no further details are known about the people who were injured after an apparent strong collision between the dual buses, nor about the health status of the drivers.
Images shared on social media showed the magnitude of the road accident, which has led to the presence of competent authorities in the area and several ambulances to attend to the passengers.
A few minutes before the publication of this note, TransMilenio confirmed through its social media channels that “the incident at the station continued and service remained temporarily suspended in the south-north direction.” Additionally, it was also emphasized that the dual buses were “performing counterflow.”
The emergency continues after the incident for which no hypotheses have yet been established. The photos show the strong impact caused to the rear of one of the buses and the remains of the windows of both.
After what happened, passengers had to be evacuated to proceed with the necessary work, and the buses left the mixed lane. So far, drivers are still being asked to take alternate routes to improve traffic in the area.

Regarding the road accident between two dual buses at San Bernardo station, TransMilenio S. A. reported that “as soon as the incident was reported, all protocols were activated.”
According to the official statement known by this newspaper several minutes after the publication of this note, the people who were injured are not “in critical condition”.
“So far, health organizations are assisting at the site, and no one is reported to be in critical condition,” they highlighted.
