The National Electoral Council (CNE) officially concluded the scrutiny process and has already consolidated the final votes obtained by Abelardo de la Espriella (Defenders of the Homeland) and Iván Cepeda (Historic Pact), the other candidates who participated in the first presidential round.
Once this vote review stage, which took four days, is concluded, the CNE magistrates will declare the second round, which will be between Cepeda and De la Espriella next Sunday, June 21.
There is anticipation for the response of President Gustavo Petro, who has not yet recognized the electoral results, endorsed by the electoral body and national and international electoral observation missions that were present during the day.
The National Registry stated that the variation between the pre-count (conducted by polling station jurors) and the scrutiny (conducted by judges) was a minimal variation of less than 1%.
