Attention: another appointment from the De La Espriella government falls through, this time at the ANI, due to closeness to the Gustavo Petro government
Respectfully, I hereby submit my letter of resignation effective today, August 16, 2026, from the position I currently hold as Vice President of the Agency, Code E2, Grade 05, assigned to the Vice Presidency of Corporate Management, a position belonging to the global staff of the National Infrastructure Agency (ANI)”.
That is the heading of the resignation presented by Andrés Camilo Pardo Jiménez, who did not even complete 24 hours in the position to which he was appointed by Ricardo Ayerbe, head of the ANI appointed by President Abelardo De la Espriella.

Close to former health minister

ANI
His appointment fell through after, as published by EL TIEMPO’s Investigative Unit, sectors pointed out his closeness to the outgoing government of Gustavo Petro, specifically with the former Minister of Health, Guillermo Alfonso Jaramillo.
In fact, on August 5, when the Petro government ended, Pardo’s wife – Íngrid Paola Ortiz – was appointed to notary office 74 in Bogotá by then-President Petro and Cielo Rusinque, acting Minister of Justice.
This is the third appointment that has fallen through due to the appointees’ closeness to the previous administration. Appointments have already been halted in the National Planning Department (DNP), with Carlos Sepúlveda-; and in the Ministry of ICT, with the Secretary General, Magda Yolima Amaya.

Secrecy

ANI
EL TIEMPO consulted several ANI officials about Pardo Jiménez’s appointment, but they did not even confirm the existence of the resolution of his appointment that was already circulating on social media.
However, in communication with this newspaper, Pardo himself said he was going to decline the position, although he did not state the reasons. But he praised the De La Espriella government: “I hope it goes very well for them.”
Despite the secrecy, EL TIEMPO obtained exclusively the resolution accepting his resignation.
Ricardo Ayerbe
Ricardo Ayerbe has not yet commented on the fall of his secretary general, in charge of appointments and the ANI’s checkbook; a key entity in infrastructure reconstruction in the face of the earthquake.
Ricardo Ayerbe y Abelardo De La Espriella
President De la Espriella, who did comment on the other two cases, has not used his social media to address the case at ANI.
