Presidential elections in Colombia 2026: Foreign Ministry rejects ‘any attempt of external interference in the Colombian electoral process’

The entity responsible for election logistics revealed that the same order from the first round draw will be maintained.

Through a statement, the entity reaffirmed “its commitment to democracy, the rule of law, and respect for international law” and expressed “deep concern and rejects any manifestation of support, pressure, or external intervention that seeks to interfere in the development of the electoral process.”

​The message asserted that “decisions about the nation’s political future rest exclusively with the Colombian people,” clarifying that “any pronouncement or action by foreign actors aimed at favoring or harming candidacies, parties, or political projects constitutes an inadmissible interference in the democratic process.”
