A video on social media showing a blue Chevrolet Spark car trying to climb a pedestrian bridge on 26th Street in Bogotá sparked reactions from the Mayor’s Office and the Bogotá Mobility Secretariat, who, since July 24, have been searching for the alleged driver of the vehicle who committed the infraction.
Amid this investigation, sources from the Mobility Secretariat confirmed to EL TIEMPO on July 30 that the blue Chevrolet Spark involved in the incident was immobilized.
According to information obtained by this newspaper, the vehicle was located in the municipality of Cajicá. For now, the entity has not provided further details about the procedure or subsequent actions related to the vehicle.
EL TIEMPO investigated and established that the ticket was issued exactly at 8#8-36 Street, in the municipality of the Sabana of the capital, around 7:46 in the morning.
According to the report, the immobilization was not due to the controversial case in which the vehicle committed a traffic offense on a bridge, but because of code C35, which means the vehicle did not undergo “the technical-mechanical inspection within the legally established period or when the vehicle is not in adequate technical-mechanical or emissions conditions, even if it carries the corresponding certificates.”
It was also learned that the driver at the time of immobilization was identified as Edward Fabián Figueredo Corredor, allegedly involved in the first case and identified as the new owner of the car.
It should be noted that the immobilization occurred after several days of monitoring the case that began after the dissemination of images recorded on July 20, when during the Independence Day celebration a blue Chevrolet Spark was seen driving on the pedestrian structure located at Carrera 68 with Calle 26.
The videos also showed that the vehicle’s license plates were covered.
The same person reported during the operation, which had a ticket value of 633,111 Colombian pesos, Figueredo Corredor, had posted a new video hours earlier on his social media in which the blue Spark is seen being driven from the perspective of one of its mirrors.
The recording was shared in the subject’s stories, who is recognized on social media as a Latin American and national cycling runner-up and Pan American champion in his discipline.
Fines the vehicle already had: now it has penalties exceeding 5 million pesos
The search for the driver and the person who had the car in their possession intensified in recent days after learning that the vehicle’s license plate was ZIX013. EL TIEMPO learned that this same car has outstanding tickets which now increase to more than 5 million pesos with the most recent sanction.
Among these records is a ticket from June 13, 2026 issued by the Villavicencio Transit Secretariat on a national road, for infraction C31, corresponding to failure to comply with signals or requests from traffic agents, with an outstanding amount of $1,266,210.
On the same day, another ticket was also issued for infraction D12, related to using the vehicle for a service other than authorized, for $2,532,420.
Added to these is a resolution issued on July 14, 2026, by the Bogotá Mobility Secretariat for infraction C14, related to traveling through restricted areas or at prohibited times, with an outstanding balance of $635,169.
During the investigations, EL TIEMPO’s Investigative Unit accessed the history of the blue Chevrolet Spark, which lists Brayan Bernal Muñoz as the owner. This newspaper contacted him, and he assured that he no longer had the vehicle for several months.
The man stated that he has a “signed sales contract” by Edward Figueredo Corredor, who would be the new owner. The same man initially said he was the complainant in the case and posted the video that later went viral.
According to EL TIEMPO, it is Figueredo who appears associated with the vehicle’s outstanding tickets. The most recent was issued on June 7 for invading a TransMilenio exclusive lane.
Councilman Juan David Quintero spoke after the vehicle’s immobilization and stated that “sooner or later those who think they can do whatever they want, those who feel above the law, fall”, adding that the vehicle’s immobilization “is a strong message to all these reckless people who think breaking the law is okay. Strong, the law is respected, the city is respected. Unfortunately, it will not end in arrest.”

Figueredo spoke minutes after the vehicle’s immobilization became known through his Instagram stories, in which he rejected the measure.
In an image, he shared a conversation with an unknown person who told him the authorities “cannot impose an order for past events in another jurisdiction if they did not catch you driving at that moment” and added: “With the engine off, there is no traffic flagrancy at the time of the intervention.”
Regarding this, Figueredo questioned that the operation took place while the vehicle was “parked.” “They proceed to take it because they want to, video in process,” he stated.
For his part, Bogotá’s Secretary of Government, Gustavo Quintero, indicated that the blue vehicle “was abandoned” in Cajicá and that, a few minutes later, the driver arrived. The official added that he has no information about a possible arrest of the same person.
“What we know so far is that in the early hours the Blue Spark was found abandoned, the driver was not there at that moment,” he pointed out, stating that this is “a very important message: the authority is not challenged, because the authority is respected.”
