This Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13, the Cordillera Festival 2026 takes place at Simón Bolívar Park in Bogotá. Due to this event, several areas of the city will have traffic modifications.
The District Mobility Secretariat authorized different measures to facilitate the event’s development. These include vehicle restrictions and impacts on bike lanes and pedestrian paths.
The provisions are mainly focused on corridors such as Calle 63 Avenue, Carrera 60 Avenue, and Calle 53 Avenue. Additionally, some measures started on Friday the 11th and will remain until Monday, September 14.
Which roads will have restrictions?
- Calle 63 Avenue: between Carreras 68 and 60, there will be a full closure of the south lane until 6:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14.
- Carrera 60 Avenue: will have restrictions on the east and west lanes, depending on the section.
- Calle 53 Avenue: one lane of the north lane will be closed between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. during the nights of Saturday and Sunday.
- Bike lanes and pedestrian paths: will also be affected in areas of Calle 63 and Carrera 60.
Besides knowing the points where modifications will occur, drivers should consider the enabled routes to continue their journeys. The Mobility Secretariat established different alternatives depending on the direction of travel.
These are the authorized detours
- North to south via Carrera 60 Avenue: take Calle 63 Avenue westward and continue on Carrera 68 Avenue southward.
- East to west via Calle 63 Avenue: use Carrera 68 Avenue or Carrera 70 Avenue southward and then connect with Calle 26.
- North to south via Carrera 68 Avenue: continue south and take Calle 26 eastward.
- West to east via Calle 63 Avenue: head north on Carrera 68 Avenue, continue east on Calle 67, and take Carrera 60 Avenue north.
- South to north via Carrera 68 Avenue: use Calle 53 Avenue eastward.
With these alternatives, authorities aim to facilitate mobility during the event days. However, the District Mobility Secretariat recommends planning trips in advance and avoiding, if possible, the use of private vehicles.
It is also advised to use TransMilenio, SITP, bicycle, or walk, depending on the trip conditions. Users must also respect signage and follow the instructions of traffic agents and responsible personnel.
The restrictions will be in effect during this weekend, and some will extend until the early hours of Monday, September 14. Therefore, those traveling around Simón Bolívar Park should check alternatives before starting their journey.
