Following the recent arrest, Felipe Jiménez, president of the Modelia Community Action Board, assured EL TIEMPO that they expect justice to be served and the case “not to remain in impunity.”
“We appreciate the work of the Police and all the authorities who were attentive to finding the one accused of assaulting the attacked guard, Mr. Ricardo,” Jiménez affirmed.
And he concluded: “We ask that this act not go unpunished. And we ask the authorities to ensure justice is done so the case does not remain in impunity.”

The day of the attack
The tragic events occurred on September 5 in broad daylight, when Rodríguez was in the booth ensuring the security of the area and, within seconds, a criminal surprised him from behind and threw a stone at him.
Moments before the attack, the alleged attacker is seen hiding behind two trees, which obstructed the victim’s visibility and limited his ability to react to what happened.

After receiving the blow from the man, the guard immediately fell to the ground and remained unconscious for several seconds, a situation the attacker took advantage of to rob him of his belongings.
The man allegedly took the cell phone, wallet, and the bicycle that was parked at the location to later flee the area without his whereabouts being known.
According to what was established, once the neighbors realized what had happened, they requested the presence of an ambulance so that the guard could be taken to a medical center.
